That’s pretty small for a leopard slug. I’ve seen them grow over six inches.

You can’t really tell in this picture, but many do have dark heads. The thing you need to discern between the two is a picture of the mantle so we can see where the pore is, along with the exact location. I *think* IM lives further south and more inland than the native species does.
We do have a lot of invasive keelback slugs, so even then it can be hard to identify them...
